Right column text styles

The following styles are available to apply to text in the right column, as displayed on this site’s Home page. If you need additional styles, please contact ITS-WS or YSM-IPC to assist you with development. Font tags should never be used as they are outdated HTML and will not update if you make a style change to your entire site.

Articles or press releases in the right column

To help create a consistent experience for users, we recommend displaying news articles or press releases in the right column using the following convention:

     
  Line 1 - Article Title (may include link)  
  Line 2 - First sentence or deck of article, followed by a "more" link to the full-text of the article  

Right column style tags

Style Tag Description
<h4> </h4> This tag should be used for main headings, such as “News,” or as on this site’s Home page, “From the Dean” and “Latest Projects.”
<h5> </h5> Use this tag for for paragraph headings, such as news article headlines.
<p> </p> The paragraph tag should be used for all text not in headlines. Font tags should never be used.
<em> </em> Use this tag to italicize text.
<strong> </strong> Use this tag to bold text.
<hr> </hr> Use this tag to apply a horizontal line, typically used to separate main headings, as shown in the example below.
