Web styles

To enhance usability for site visitors and to promote a sense of consistency across all sites using the YSM template, YSM-IPC and ITS-WS created a series of Web styles to use in concert with the template guidelines. These styles are designed to work seamlessly with the web editing program, Contribute, and are described in groupings where site Web managers will edit the majority of content:

• Left column
• Middle column text
• Right column text
• Images
• “About the image” banner explanation page

Additional style notes

• Type case. Use upper case and lower case type for all text, including headings and navigation text. Only the first word should be capitalized, except when the name is a proper noun.
• Breadcrumbs. The breadcrumb style is predefined in the template code; however, its default setting is not to display the breadcrumb. To display the breadcrumb, change the class from “hide-breadcrumb” to “null” in the page code. Alternatively, to hide breadcrumb text, change the class from “null” to “hide-breadcrumb.”
