The Visiting Student Elective Program is open to all US Medical Students. Please review program eligibility and follow application procedures for Visiting International Medical Students.
We offer many opportunities for Yale students to welcome and mentor visiting students. If you are interested, please contact the Office of International Medical Student Education at 203-785-5937.
The Office of International Medical Student Education supports a robust Visiting Student Elective Program (VSEP) for international students coming to Yale to do clinical electives. The program receives between 450 and 500 applications a year, and accepts about 80 students.
Students from 35 countries have participated in VSEP in the last five years, although the majority of our visiting students come from Europe and South Asia. Our goal in the coming years is to attract more applicants from Africa and Latin America. U.S. citizens attending international schools are not eligible to participate in VSEP.
