Droplet/Contact Precautions

Pneumonia-Adenoviral requires Standard Precautions, Contact Precautions and Droplet Precautions.

Droplet Precautions:

• Place patient in a single room.
• Mask should be worn within 3 ft. of patient.
• Place mask on patient when transporting.

Contact Precautions:

• Private Room
• Don and remove gown and gloves upon entering and exiting patient's room.
• Wash hands after gown/glove removal.
• Dedicate non-critical patient care equipment.

Duration of Precautions: Duration of illness
