Standard Precautions
Enteroviral infection in adults requires Standard Precautions. Examples of enteroviruses include ECHO and Coxsackie viruses.
Note: Enteroviral encephalitis is a Category 2 reportable disease. Report by mail within 12 hours of recognition or strong suspicion to both local and State Health Departments:
