The Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine is a quarterly journal reviewed and edited by Yale biomedical faculty and students. The journal aims to showcase outstanding research articles from all areas of biology and medicine, to publish significant case reviews, and to provide both perspectives on personal experiences in medicine and reviews of the current state of biology and medicine.
The Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine (YJBM), first published in 1928, is the oldest medical student publication still in print. Dr. Milton Winternitz founded the Journal as a vehicle to publish students’ original thesis research. Yale M.D. thesis abstracts continue to be published annually, documenting student research in the medical literature. The YJBM has served for many years as a learning tool for medical and graduate students interested in publishing, a way to integrate biological and medical knowledge in the scientific community, and a high-quality peer-reviewed biomedical journal.
The YJBM is an internationally-distributed journal with a long history of landmark articles. It currently covers a wide range of functions and topics, including original research articles, medical and scientific reviews, case reports, book reviews, and a section for focus on Yale medicine. Special issues are published periodically to highlight symposia and other topics of particular interest. more…
