Plans in which Yale Physicians Do Not Currently Participate

The doctors of the Yale Medical Group routinely review participation opportunities with managed care and other health plans in our region. Click here or scroll down this page to review a list of major plans in which we do not currently participate at this time.

For point-of-service plan members (POS)

If you are a member of a health plan in which we do not participate, and you participate in your plan's Point of Service Plan option, you may utilize a Yale doctor as an out-of-network service. Please be sure to review the terms of your plan for specific information about out-of-network services.

Out-of-network referrals

If you are in a Plan in which we do not participate and you are not in a point-of-service plan, you may want to pursue an out-of-network referral. In most plans, you will need approval from your health plan before your visit with a Yale physician will be covered in full. Please contact the member service department in your plan for more information. We are also available to assist you. Commercial HMOs and Managed Care Plans

Yale physicians and providers do not participate in these plans:

• Colonial Cooperative Care
• Magellan (excluding Child Study Center)
• Medicaid FirstChoice

Medicaid Managed Care Plans

Yale physicians and providers participate in most Medicaid Managed Care plans in Connecticut.

Medicare Managed Care Plans

Yale physicians and providers participate in most Medicare plans in Connecticut.
