| Heather Andrew Williams is a graduate student in Yale’s American Studies Ph.D. Program. She is completing a dissertation on African American education in the South following emancipation. A self-taught quilter, Heather experiences the hours spent designing and completing a quilt as a time for mediation and a time for praise. She is grateful for the creative self that quilting has revealed to her. |
