Treatment of Coccidiosis in Rabbits

  1. Sulfaquinoxaline solution:
    • Mix 18ml solution with 1 gallon H2O
    • Make fresh daily
    • Administer for 14 days
  2. 5% Sulfadimethoxine (such as "Albon Liquid" by Roche)
    • Administer PO
    • Initial dose 25mg/lb
    • Followed by 12.5mg/lb once a day for 10 days
Animal Weight Initial Dose Subsequent Dose
5 lbs (2.2 kg) 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml)
10 lbs (4.5 kg) 1 teaspoon (5ml) 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml)
