Midterm paper: A short (5-6 pages) essay, focused on a topic to be assigned by the instructor. References and citations are required as appropriate. Due: 31 October 2005.
Final term paper: The final paper for the seminar should be an analysis of your favorite epidemic (not limited to those considered in class). The subject of the final paper should be approved by the instructor no later than 2 November 2005. The paper should consider the historical descriptions of the epidemic, its local impact, and its broader consequences. The paper should be about 3000 words, exclusive of references, notes, appendices, etc. References and citations are required as appropriate. Due: 5:00 PM, 2 Dec 05
