Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Department of Therapeutic Radiology have taken delivery of the Novalis Brainlab system in addition to the M3 microleaf collimator which will allow the latest in precision, and state of the art capability in stereotactic treatment for tumors of the spine and other locations. Additionally, the Varian-Novalis TX with Exac Trac will be operational when the department moves into the new Smilow Cancer Hospital in October of 2009. The new department has dedicated space for 4 LINACS with IGRT, a Gamma Knife, orthovoltage, and high dose rate after loading units, in addition to two CT simulators and other equipment.
