View of the construction of the Department of Therapeutic Radiology. The department will span this entire level and includes 4 linear accelerator bays, a gamma knife bay, separate areas for CT-simulator, PET-CT simulator, HDR facility, orthovoltage, clinic area, dosimetry, conference space, multidisciplinary examination area, procedure rooms, and office space. This is the lower level of the 14-story Cancer Center at Yale which will also include multidisciplinary clinical space, 112 in-patient oncology beds, operating rooms, and a roof terrace garden.
The department will continue to maintain all basic research laboratory operations in the newly renovated second and third floors of the Hunter building, and will continue to utilize portions of the current department for specific conferences, and a subset of administrative operations.
