Tenured Full Professor to Lead the Yale
Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA)
Applications are being accepted for a new faculty position at the Professor level (tenured) in any area of HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care and the reduction of negative consequences of HIV disease in vulnerable and underserved populations.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an externally funded research program, to teach and advise students at both the Masters and doctoral levels, and to serve on various faculty committees within the Department, the Medical School, and the University. The successful candidate will also be expected to assume a leadership role in the Yale Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA).
We welcome candidates from any disciplinary background and with any related substantive interest. Our aim is to identify a scholar of the highest international prominence. We are especially interested in individuals whose research, teaching, and service activities all serve to promote an interdisciplinary, evidence-based approach to both the study and the practice of HIV prevention, treatment, and care.
The successful candidate will have:
- a doctoral degree – which may be a PhD, ScD, or a professional doctorate (e.g., MD) with advanced training in a related discipline;
- an extensive body of influential publications; a history of service to international and national-level committees, professional organizations, and scholarly journals;
- a willingness to teach and expand the Department’s financial support for pre- and post-doctoral training activities;
- a reputation for mentoring successful academic careers;
- evidence of a research program that has influenced the science and/or practice of public health.
