Professor Adhvaryu’s research is focused on topics in health and development economics. He is particularly interested in understanding and alleviating barriers to the adoption of beneficial health technologies and health behaviors in developing countries. His research in this area focuses on increasing the adoption of new malaria therapy and malaria prevention behaviors in Tanzania. His research in development economics includes estimating the effects of adult mortality on the health and labor supply of elderly household members, and understanding how labor regulation laws affect the way in which firms adjust to shocks.
