Coordinating Council for Children in Crisis, Inc.

CCCC works to prevent abuse, neglect and victimization across the life span and to serve those affected by providing home visiting and outreach, parenting education, family strengthening activities, counseling and advocacy to children and adults. For referrals, click here.

Parenting Education
Home-based parenting education, information and support to help parents to strengthen skills in parenting and meet the needs of their young children. Staff are certified in the Parents As Teachers program, an early childhood family education approach based on the belief that parents are their child’s first and most influential teacher. A Parent Support and Education group meets weekly.

Family Violence Outreach
Risk assessment, safety planning, counseling and advocacy to help women in abusive relationships develop safety strategies to protect themselves and their children. An Empowerment Group and Expressive Art Therapy group are also available. Individual counseling to children who have been sexually abused or who have witnessed domestic violence.

Neighborhood Victim Advocacy
Crisis counseling, safety planning, assistance with compensation claims and other support services to victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, robbery, assault and hate and bias crimes.

Family Support Collaborative
A partnership between CCCC and ALSO/Cornerstone, Inc. to provide parenting education, supportive housing and case management to families with mental illness, substance abuse or cognitive limitations.

Parenting Support and Rights Initiative
Parenting education, information and group support to parents with a psychiatric disability. Assistance in developing temporary guardianship plans when hospitalization is required.

New Haven Family Partnership
A partnership between CCCC, ALSO/Cornerstone, New Haven Home Recovery and The Connection, Inc. to provide housing, case management, developmental and behavioral assessments of children, short-term counseling and referrals to homeless families coping with HIV/AIDS, mental illness, substance abuse.

Group Support
Psychoeducation and support for parents, survivors of sexual assault, and domestic violence.

Community Education
Training for students, parents and professionals in the prevention, identification and response to child abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence.
