  Christopher Pittenger, MD, PhD
Director
Dr. Pittenger is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Yale University and Director of the Yale OCD Research Clinic. He received his MD and Ph.D. degrees from Columbia University, where he did his Ph.D. work with recent Nobel prize winner Eric Kandel. Dr. Pittenger is the recipient of numerous awards for his clinical and research work, including a Laughlin Fellowship from the American College of Psychiatrists, a Memorial Travel Award from the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, a NARSAD Young Investigator Award, and the American Psychiatric Institute for Research and Education’s MD/Ph.D. Research Fellowship. In addition to his work in OCD, Dr. Pittenger studies the normal and abnormal function of the basal ganglia – a collection of brain structures that exhibit abnormal activity in OCD – in experimental animals.

  Michael Bloch, MD
Assistant Director

Michael H. Bloch, M.D. is currently a resident in the Yale Adult and Child Psychiatry Integrated Research Training Program. He graduated from Yale School of Medicine in 2004 and won the Keese Prize for most outstanding medical student research thesis for his work on Predictors of Long-Term Outcome in Children with Tourette Syndrome. His research interests include developing novel treatments and determining predictors of outcome in children and adults with Tourette syndrome and OCD.
  Vladimir Coric, MD
Senior Research Scientist and past Director

Vladimir Coric, M.D. is Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Yale OCD Research Clinic, and Director, Neuroscience Global Clinical Research, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company. Dr. Coric’s research at the Yale OCD Research Clinic has focused on novel pharmacological interventions for treatment-resistant OCD. More specifically, his research has examined the use of glutamate modulating agents in the treatment of anxiety and mood symptoms. Dr. Coric is President-Elect of the Connecticut Psychiatric Society and teaches at the Department of Psychiatry, Yale University School of Medicine.
