Jonathan Weber MA, PA-C graduated from the Yale University PA Program in 1998 and serves as co-coordinator and instructor in the Didactic program.

Prior to PA school, Jonathan taught secondary school science for nearly a decade to an international student body at Taipei American School in the Republic of China. He holds an MA in Curriculum and Teaching from Michigan State University in East Lansing and a BA in Biology and Science Education from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.

As a clinician, he has worked as a Hospitalist PA in internal medicine at both the Hospital of St. Raphael's and, for the last 8 years, at Yale New Haven Hospital, the primary teaching hospital for the Yale University School of Medicine. While there, he worked to establish and develop the role of the medicine PA in the acute tertiary care setting while also leading efforts to develop and teach the clinical curriculum in medicine for Yale PA students.

He is the recipient of several awards for his clinical service and teaching including the Dr. Margaret Colliton Fellowship Award which supports clinical pastoral education for health care professionals with particular emphasis on spirituality and health, palliative and end-of-life care, and clinical ethics. He has been a member of the ConnAPA Physician Assistant Foundation since 1999, the Yale New Haven Hospital Bioethics committee since 2001 and has served on the Accreditation, Admissions, Curriculum and Student Progress committees at the Yale PA Program since 1998.

Research Interests:

Topics specific to ethically vulnerable populations within both the US and developing countries including: Long-term and End-of-life care planning; Health care access and policy; Basic preventive care; Malnutrition.

Topics specific to PA education including: Professionalism; Emerging roles for PA clinicians; International PA program development; Clinical and behavioral skills assessment.
