Clinical

The Yale Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Clinic evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients in the Pediatric Specialty Clinic at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital (Map and Directions). Our faculty immunologists have broad expertise in genetic immunodeficiency disease, asthma, allergy, and recurrent infectious and fungal diseases. Among the diseases and conditions treated are:

Asthma:

The Yale Pediatric Asthma Program, in which our faculty participate, is a group of medical staff from various specialties who collaborate to ensure that our patients receive comprehensive asthma care.

  • Evaluation, diagnosis and management of childhood asthma, for patients with varying degrees of severity.
  • Testing for allergic precipitants
  • Mechanical analysis of respiratory function
  • Outreach to patient's home where needed
  • Delivery of asthma care to underserved patient populations

Allergy:

  • Testing for allergens, desensitization, and drug therapy
  • Allergic Rhinoconjunctivitis
  • Drug Allergy
  • Food Allergy
  • Insect Venom Allergy
  • Urticaria (hives), Mastocytosis, Anaphylaxis
  • Hereditary Angioedema
  • Allergen Immunotherapy

Primary Immunodeficiency and Recurrent Infections:

Our clinic has been designated as Jeffrey Modell Diagnostic Center for Primary Immunodeficiencies.

  • Testing for antibody deficiency, cellular immunodeficiency, and complement disorders
  • Treatment of primary immunodeficiency diseases including intravenous immunoglobulin therapy
  • Evaluation and management of recurrent infections including fungal infections
