Visiting Professor of Pediatrics
Anil Dhawan, MBBS, MD, FRCPCH
Dr. Dhawan is a renowned pediatric hepatologist with expertise
in liver transplantation and hepatocyte transplantation. As Visiting Professor
he promotes collaborative research in inherited metabolic liver disease
with Pramod Mistry, MD, PhD, and
his group in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Dhawan participates in
didactic lectures for the fellowship training
program.
Research Interests & Support: Dr. Dhawan is the director
of the King's Hepatocyte & Cell Isolation Unit and is leading the research
group on the establishment of a human hepatocyte bank and clinical transplantation.
He is also a principal investigator on the NIH/NIDDK funded Pediatric Acute
Liver Failure Study Group (PALFG).

Katherine Amy Kacena, PhD

Katherine Kacena, PhD
Dr. Kacena is an outstanding biostatistician and a scholar.
She has made important contributions to the field of Gaucher disease through
application of innovative tools of propensity scoring and linear mixed
modeling to study therapeutic effects in this rare and highly heterogenous
disease. She will continue her collaborations in several projects within
Yale's National Gaucher Disease Center and develop a teaching module in
biostatistics for our postdoctoral fellows in the GI
training programs.
