I always thought the Office of Multicultural Affairs provided service
to others, not Asian American students. After meeting with the Dean and the director, (a meeting they requested!) I
found the office to be a safe, helpful, caring and inquisitive place and the experience gave me some insight into my
own ethnic identity.

The OMCA in
particular was created in response to minority student concerns. Accordingly, the office serves as an excellent
resource for professional development as well as a haven for minority students. Regardless of your special
interests, you can rest assured that you will find the necessary support to help you realize your full
potential.

As the Office
for Minority Affairs began to rework itself into the current Office of Multicultural Affairs, my views and the views
of other lesbigay students were solicited and respected. Sexual Orientation has been included in the
nondiscrimination clause of the Yale Physician's Oath.

The Office of
Multicultural Affairs is a very special part of the Yale experience. The warm staff has always been genuinely
concerned with my academic development as a physician, and is always available for support and counsel.
