Summer Programs for College and High School Students
The Office of Multicultural Affairs conducts summer residential educational and research programs that share a common goal of increasing the number of students entering the pipeline leading to degrees in biomedical sciences
Students from groups underrepresented in science and the health professions are especially encouraged to apply.
- BioSTEP - science research for college students:
- A ten week research training program with faculty mentors in Yale School of Medicine basic science laboratories and clinics.
- Summer Medical Education Program (SMDEP):
- A six week program of science enrichment, career counseling, clinical exposure and MCAT review for college freshman and sophomore pre-medical students.
- SCHOLAR - high school science academy:
- A collaborative educational and science initiative between Yale School of Medicine and Hill Regional Career High School of New Haven.
