A total of 258 resident deaths were caused by malignant neoplasms occuring in 1994. This total shows a slight increase from the previous year. In 1993 the crude death rate was 182.4/100,000 and in 1994 the death rate was 197.7/100,000.

The death rate for nonwhite residents increased from the previous year. In 1993, the death rate for malignant neoplasms among nonwhite residents was 88.0/100,000, in 1994 this rate increased significantly to 114.6/100,000.

The death rate among white residents is 268.9/100,000 while the death rate among the nonwhite population is 114.6/100,000. The death rate for white males increased slightly from 268.7/100,000 in 1993 to 325.5/100,000 in 1994. The death rate for white females decreased from 252.8/100,000 in 1993 to 217.5/100,000 in 1994.
