Deaths attributed to Septicemia decreased to a total of 27 deaths in 1993. This total was significantly lower than the 1992 total of 40 deaths. The resident death rate for septicemia decreased to 20.6/100,000 in 1993. Septicemia was ranked the 7th leading cause of death in 1992. Resident males had a higher death rate of 22.8/100,000 then females who had a rate of 18.8/100,000 for Septicemia. Residents who were 55 years of age and older accounted for 70% of all deaths caused by septicemia.
