A total of 236 resident deaths were caused by malignant neoplasms occurring in 1993. This total shows a slight decrease from the previous year.

The death rate for nonwhite residents decreased from the previous year. In 1992, the death rate for malignant neoplasms among nonwhite residents was 134.5/100,000, in 1993 this rate decreased significantly to 88.0/100,000.

'The death rate among white residents is 260.4/100,000 while the death rate among the nonwhite population is 88.0/100,000. The death rate for white males decreased slightly from 280.4/100,000 in 1992 to 268,7/2.00,000 in 1993. The death rate for white females also decreased from 293.7/100,000 in 1992 to 252.8/100,000 in 1993.
