Deaths attributed to septicemia increased to a total of 29 in 1990. This total was slightly higher than the 1989 total of 28 deaths. The resident death rate for septicemia remained the same at 22.2/100,000 in 1989 and 1990. Septicemia was ranked the 10th leading cause of death in 1989. Resident males had a death rate of 22.8/100,000 and females had a rate of 21.7/100,000 for septicemia. Residents who were 75 years of age and older, accounted for 58% of all deaths due to septicemia.
