A total of 242 resident deaths were caused by malignant neoplasms occurring in 1990. This total shows a slight decrease from the previous year.

The death rate for nonwhite residents seems to be decreasing. In 1989, the death rate for malignant neoplasms among nonwhite residents was 135.3/100,000, in 1990 this rate decreased significantly to 117.9/100,000.

The death rate among white residents is 243.4/100,000 while the death rate among the nonwhite population is 117.9/100,000. The death rate for white males has increased slightly from 257.4/100,000 in 1989 to 265.8/100,000 in 1990. The death rate for white females decreased from 243.9/100,000 in 1989 to 222.9/100,000 in 1990.
