A total of 25 resident deaths due to homicide occurred in 1990. The 1990 crude death rate from homicides was 19.2/100,000 decreasing from 1989 with 23.0/100,000. The death rate for nonwhite residents was higher than that of white residents. The nonwhite death rate was 34.9/100,000 whereas the white death rate was 5.7/100,000. Male residents accounted for 76% of the homicidal deaths, and had a death rate of 30.9/100,000. There were 6 female homicidal deaths recorded in 1990, making the female homicidal death rate 8.7/100,000.
