Student funding
Each student admitted to the Microbiology Graduate Program is assured of financial support for four years of study. The graduate students are supported by a variety of means including predoctoral training fellowships provided by the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation and other private and Yale sponsored fellowships. These fellowships pay tuition and stipend to meet both academic and living expenses. Because most support derives from United States government funds that can be used only for U.S. citizens and permanent residents, foreign applicants are urged to apply for scholarships or funding from their own governments. A small number of Yale fellowships are available for outstanding foreign students.
