YMD > Work in Progress and Future Goals

(3/9/2003 summary prepared by Kei Cheung): The following provides a brief overview of work that is in progress, if you have suggestions for urgently needed updates to YMD please email them to Kei Cheung.

  • Incorporation of Affymetrix data. While YMD currently supports two-color (ratio-based) microarray experiments, it has been designed so it can be extended to handle experiments with absolute intensity as featured in the Affymetrix GeneChip technology. We are working closely with the Keck Affymetrix Resource at Yale to incorporate Affymetrix data into YMD.
  • Linking to analysis tools and images. We are planning to link YMD to ExpressYourself, which is a gene expression data analysis package developed by the Gerstein Lab in MB&B. This package also include the ability to display microarray images.
  • Storing of analysis results. We are in the process of providing the capability of allowing users to upload analysis results to YMD and make these files available to reviewers, publishers, and/or the public.
