Elizabeth Seelye Bixler serves on the Board of Directors of
the National League for Nursing.
1956
Yale Corporation votes to close Masters of Nursing basic nursing program
and substitute "a program consisting wholly of advanced education".
Gives YSN degree granting authority for the MSN and for a Certificate in
Nurse-Midwifery.
One-year Master of Science in Nursing program begins with three
specializations: Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, Maternal and
Newborn Health Nursing including Nurse-Midwifery and Public Health
Nursing.
Dean Bixler resigns effective 1959 with relief from responsibilities
in 1958.
