Human Megakaryocytopoiesis in Immunodeficient Mice

  Human Platelet Activation

Shown above is in vitro activation of human platelets that developed in immunodeficient mice following transplantation of CD34 selected G-CSF-mobilized peripheral blood mononuclear cells. CD62 (P-selectin or platelet activation dependent granule-external membrane protein, PADGEM) is expressed on activated, but not quiescent platelets. The antibody used binds to human CD62 and not to murine CD62.
