Research Interests
Although therapy for the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is now widely used, the optimal algorithm for efficient use of the numerous types of anti-HIV agents available remains unclear. Prognostic markers that are currently utilized for following individuals undergoing HIV therapy include CD4+ T cells, viral load and resistance testing. The goal of my present work is to evaluate the usefulness of genotyping resistance testing in HIV infected individuals treated with antiretroviral agents.
