Research Interests
My research interests center around parasitology, clinical tropical
medicine, travelers' health and immunocompromised patients. The
clinical microbiology laboratories provide an environment in which
studies in bacteriology, parasitology, and mycobacteriology, particularly
those related to developing countries, can be investigated. Student
research projects have included travel abroad to study diarrhea
in Nepal, tuberculosis in Nicaragua, and HTLV-1 infections in Haiti.
Residents are encouraged to perform similar studies in this clinical
research facility.
