Request for Virtual Host Name
Virtual host name requests must be submitted via the online request form below.
A virtual host name allows the Web server to be accessible by more than one Web address (URL/domain name).
Since Yale University is the owner of the domain name ending in yale.edu it is not necessary to register names ending in .yale.edu.
Examples of virtual host names allowed are:
.com names are not allowed.
*If you require a domain name ending in .org it is the responsibility of the department to officially register the name. A service such as VeriSign, Inc. may be used to purchase a .org name.
Upon registering a .org domain name you will be asked for an administrative contact and a technical contact. When doing so, please name Joseph Paolillo as the technical contact:
Joseph Paolillo

New Haven, CT 06520
(203) 432-6673
fax: (203) 432-5636

The new virtual host name must be set to point to the Web servers hosted by Yale University. This can be accomplished by having the domain name service point to the Yale name servers. You will be asked to list the domain servers when registering the new account.
