Responsibilities: |
 |
Inpatient- pediatric, medical, and tuberculosis wards. |
 |
Outpatient- antiretroviral clinic (most physician-scholars spend bulk of time at this location,) and hospice which serves as step-down like facility for patients with HIV/TB co-infection and multi-system disease. |

ER/Casualty - Optional rotation with possibility of overnight call. |
 |
Community outreach- home visits to rural countryside as well as mobile-clinic on department of health van. |
 |
Lectures- opportunity to present at weekly case conference |
 |
Opportunity to participate in ongoing clinical research related to TB and HIV co infection |
| Personnel Needed from: Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Ob/Gyn.

| Length of Rotation: Minimum of 6 weeks, including travel time from US

Reimbursement Award amount: $3000 for residents, $4000 for career physicians |

Transportation from Durban to Tugela Ferry is provided. |

Available housing - onsite in park homes with kitchen/bathroom. May share with other hospital workers. |

Language requirements - English. Local language is Zulu. |
 |
Paperwork - allow several months for the processing of the Foreign Workforce Management Programme and the Health Professions Council of South Africa applications |
