My current areas of investigation are medical education and hypertension quality improvement/health services research. We are currently involved in a collaborative project with the Connecticut peer review organization completing a practice-based hypertension management project and are in the midst of a large state-wide primary care improvement project that includes diabetes, hypertension, and lipid management.

My principal clinical interests are the treatment of patients with difficult hypertension, renal insufficiency, and vascular disease. The Yale Hypertension Referral Practice is located on the third floor of the Dana Medical building and we see patients on Monday afternoons. Our patient referrals are drawn primarily from the Connecticut and New York areas, though we also receive referrals from the surrounding New England states as well as some international referrals. Our hypertension practice has a close working relationship with a multidisciplinary team of experts to assist in the management of patiinets with complex hypertension including faculty in vascular surgery, endocrine surgery, cardiology, neurology, and diagnostic radiology.
