Transgender

Paul Rousseau, M.D.
PalliativeDoctor@aol.com

The encounter a blend of
Eroticism and fragrant sexuality:
A red dress, blowing in
The wind of a brief rainfall,
Hair pasted to a rouged face,
Femininity rising from the
Depths of black high heels.
I knew then,
That I must have her,
That I must be her.

Author's Commentary

I noticed a male custodian undergoing pharmacological and surgical interventions to change from a male to a female, and spoke with him regarding his choice to change genders. Out of my discussion came the poem "Transgender."
