Margaret Drickamer, M.D.
Academic Activities
Dr. Margaret Drickamer is Director of the IMAGE Program (Integrated Model of Aging and Geriatric Education), a program that is redesigning geriatric education for clinicians (see education section) and is Co-Director of the Geriatric Fellowship, directing the didactics and the clinical rotations.
She is also the Deputy Director of Education for the Section of Geriatrics.
Her interests are in Ethics and Dementia, and she has written on such topics as truth-telling in Alzheimer's disease and decisional-capacity.
Clinical and Teaching Activities
Dr. Drickamer is a half-time clinician in the Yale Nursing Home Practice
and Medical Director at Harborside Arden House, a 360 bed skilled nursing
and rehabilitation facility,
and Whitney Center, a life-care senior living facility
. She attends on the Acute Care of the Elderly Unit at
Yale-New Haven Hospital and is active in housestaff teaching. She leads
2 medical student workshops and is a seminar leader for the
Professional Responsibilities Course and the Doctor-Patient Encounter
Course at the Medical School.
