All three tracks share the initial clinical year. The Clinician Educator and Clinical Investigator Fellows will continue selected clinical activities through their additional years of training as well.
 
Year 1: The Clinical Year
- Longitudinal experience in home care, nursing home care, primary care, and out-patient consultation.
- Rotations in in-patient consultation, hospice care, geropsychiatry, home care, nursing home care, in-patient medicine.
- Extensive didactics in geriatrics and geropsychiatry, quality assurance project, and geriatrics journal club.
 
Year 2: Clinician Educator Track
- In coordination with the Section of General Internal Medicine, The second year is focused on teaching skills, curriculum development, educational evaluation and administrative structures.
- Each fellow will complete a curriculum development and evaluation project.
 
Year 2 & 3: Research Investigator Track
- Formal training in clinical epidemiology through the Clinical Scholars and Investigative Medicine Programs.
- Each fellow will complete a research project under the mentorship of a geriatrics faculty member from the formulation of the research question and rigorous project design, to data collection and ananlysis, manuscript preparation, and grant application for further studies.
