Assistant Professor of Medicine
Section of General Internal Medicine
I am a general internist and have practiced at Yale Internal Medicine Associates since 1995. I am interested in preventative medicine and wellness, as well as improving treatment of chronic medical illnesses. As part of my clinical practice, I provide medical forensic evaluations for people reporting torture who are seeking asylum within the United States.
I am interested in the education of residents, with emphasis on enhancing their knowledge of primary care practice. As such, I lead the YIMA site of the residency program's Ambulatory Block rotation. I attend on the Yale New Haven Hospital Generalist Firm, and attend in the Primary Care Center Ambulatory Block. In addition, I participate in the Yale Medical School student interviewing and communication workshops.
Yale Internal Medicine Associates (YIMA) is committed to the research mission of the Yale School of Medicine. For example, YIMA is one of two sites participating in a study with Dr Carlos Grilo, Professor of Psychiatry, to understand the effect of sibutramine on binge eating in obese patients. I oversee the conduct of this study at YIMA.
