Michael Kozal, M.D.

Associate Professor of Medicine
Yale AIDS Program &
Acting Chief of Infectious Disease, VA CT
Research Interests
Dr. Kozal's major research interests are investigations into the viral genetic determinants of drug resistance development for both HIV and Hepatitis C. Dr. Kozal's lab uses DNA microarrays and Ultra Deep sequencing technologies to detect minority drug resistant viral populations in patients to determine the impact of that minor viral populations have on clinical outcomes. In addition, Dr. Kozal is the principal investigator on multiple HIV clinical trials that investigate new antiretroviral agents.
