Clinical Interests

Dr. Dunne is interested in the management of patients with sexually transmitted diseases. She has been involved in clinical STD care for many years and is the Connecticut medical director for the CDC STD/HIV Prevention Training Center of New England. The Prevention Training Center is a CDC-funded educational resource for keeping clinicians current with STD diagnosis and management. She has special clinical interests in the interactions between bacterial vaginosis and sexual health and of the interactions between STDs, especially HSV, and HIV.

Dr. Dunne is also interested in Travel Medicine and staffs the International Travel Clinic at the Yale Health Plan. She also provides clinical care at the New Haven Health Department STD clinic, and provides care for HIV and general infectious diseases patients at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Research Interests

Dr. Dunne is currently an investigator on a number of HIV clinical trials and is participating in translational projects in Dr. Erol Fikrig's laboratory on innate immunity and immunosuppression.
