Academic Activities
Dr. Margaret Drickamer is associate section chief for education and coordinates medical student and resident education in geriatrics. She is also Director of the Geriatric Fellowship, directing the didactics and the clinical rotations. Her interests are in Ethics and Dementia, and she has written on such topics as truth–telling in Alzheimer's disease and decisional–capacity.
Clinical and Teaching Activities
Dr. Drickamer is a half–time clinician in the Yale New Haven Geriatric Practice and Medical Director at Arden House, a 360 bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, Whitney Center, a continuing care retirement community and the Home-Based Primary Care Program at VA Connecticut. She attends on the Acute Care of the Elderly Unit at Yale–New Haven Hospital and is active in housestaff teaching through their geriatric rotations and electives. She leads 2 medical student workshops on the cognitive and functional assessment of the geriatric patient.
