Research Interests

Dr. Barry is a Brookdale Leadership in Aging Fellow and a current recipient of a K01 Mentored Career Development Award from the National Institute on Aging. Dr. Barry’s research interests include the inter-relationship between cognition, mobility, and depression in older persons and the underlying mechanisms that may help to explain associations between these conditions. She is also interested in the epidemiology of gender differences in depression and physical functioning in this population.
