Yale Multidisciplinary Thyroid Clinic

For the past two decades, the Yale Multidisciplinary Thyroid Clinic has been managing patients from Connecticut, the rest of New England and New York State with benign and malignant diseases of the thyroid. The Clinic is staffed by the faculty of Yale University School of Medicine - physicians with specific expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of all thyroid conditions, including hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's disease, thyroiditis, hyperthyroidism, Grave's disease, goiter, and thyroid nodules. We are a recognized regional resource for state-of-the-art, aggressive therapy for thyroid cancer as well as for the management of thyroid disease during pregnancy.

Endocrinologists include Drs. Elizabeth Holt, Silvio Inzucchi, Urszula Masiukewicz and Terry Taylor. Affiliated surgeons in the Yale Section of Surgical Endocrinology include Drs. Sanziana Roman, Julie Sosa and Robert Udelsman. In addition, the Clinic has close working relationships with the Section of Nuclear Medicine (Dr. David Cheng) and the Departments of Pathology and Diagnostic Imaging (Ultrasound, CT, MRI).

Services for thyroid patients include consultation, co-management with primary care physicians, second opinions, fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy of thyroid nodules, dynamic testing of the pituitary-thyroid axis, medical therapy of hyperthyroidism and goiter, and thyroid hormone replacement therapy. Services available through our colleagues at Yale University and Yale-New Haven Hospital include thyroid surgery, radioactive iodine therapy, nuclear scanning, high-resolution ultrasound, CT and PET scanning, and MR Imaging.

Appointments (by referral only) can be made by calling Yale Endocrinology at 203-737-1932. Patients are seen at Yale-New Haven Medical Center at 789 Howard Avenue (Dana 3), New Haven, CT.
