A brief overview of the guidelines for part-time faculty appointments

Part-Time Faculty Appointments are offered to all physicians who teach students in the Ambulatory Clerkship. It was strongly recommended by the LCME that all preceptors who teach in the program maintain a faculty appointment to the University. In order to be considered for an appointment please fill out the TAF form (above) and e-mail us your Curriculum Vitae in the Yale Format.

If your current appointment is set to expire in the upcoming June, you will receive an e-mail from us requesting the electronic Teaching Activity Form and your Curriculum Vitae in the Yale Format. The Committee requires these to consider your appointment for promotion. The committee also asks that all documents be sent via e-mail, so they can keep an electronic version of it on file. Please send all documents electronically to Susan Larkin and she will submit them to the department. This allows us to have a back-up copy saved in case of discrepancies.

The table below gives a brief overview of the criteria for appointments, as they pertain to teaching activities with the clerkship. The full updated Appointment and Promotion Guide can be downloaded from the link above.
