Clinical Genetics at Yale Clinical genetics services at Yale Yale Clinical Genetics is committed to providing excellent clinical care for adults and children in a setting that values compassion, collaboration, and respect for individuals and families. Four clinical genetics physicians certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics provide state of the art genetic services including diagnosis, evaluation, counseling, and management for genetic and congenital conditions. The clinical team includes genetic counselors and a genetic nutritionist and a metabolic Nurse Practitioner. Cancer genetic counseling services include the provision of information on inherited cancers, discussion, coordination and interpretation of genetic testing, and determination of the likelihood that cancers in a family are hereditary. Prenatal diagnostic services include state-of-the-art comprehensive prenatal diagnostic testing and screening. We are a team of medical geneticists and genetic counselors who work in collaboration with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists providing expert advice and care in both routine and complex situations. Genetics laboratory services at Yale Cytogenetic laboratory: Analysis of lymphocytes, fetal cells, bone marrow, and solid tissue including tumors Biochemical Disease Detection Laboratory: Analysis for amino acids, organic acids, carbohydrates, acylcarnitines, acylglycines, and other analytes related to inborn errors of metabolism Molecular genetics laboratory: Analysis of tissue and cells using DNA-based methods and linkage markers.
