Operations
Center - Other
Customer Support
The
technical arm of the Building Services and Operations, available
through the Operation Center, provides a variety of services to
the School of Medicine community.
Technical
Guidance
We provide guidance in may forms for the medical campus and University
community. This includes building system assessment, recommendations
for necessary system upgrades, design critiques, coordination between
plant and construction project team, job site inspection and commissioning,
warranty coordination, assessment of planned growth for the Sterling
Power Plant, recommendations for utility distribution upgrades,
and coordination and assessment of utility distribution metering
system.
Maintenance
of Data Archives for Building System Information
We maintain an archive of historical data on equipment, systems,
building components and renovation design details to ensure our
institutional records of existing conditions. This assists the efforts
of Plant Operations, and Facilities Development, reducing repair
time and assuring well coordinated and functional renovated space.
Troubleshooting
Chronic Building Systems Problems
We investigate problems with your electrical and HVAC systems, and
define straight forward solutions. The services of this program
are available upon request.
Coordinating
Regulatory Re-certification Efforts
We help many of our customers through the process of periodical
re-certification of building systems that support their space and
function. This includes contracting and overseeing testing firms
for certification compliance and preparing data sheets for regulatory
reports. The services of this program are available upon request.
Coordination
with Local And Regional Utilities
Local and regional utility companies supply the medical campus with
electric power, natural gas, water and sewer services. We coordinate
efforts with representatives from each of these companies to ensure
adequate capacity and continued supply of these commodities.
Capital
Maintenance Program
This program has been established as a means for planning and implementation
of reinvestment into the plant. Maintained by the Operations Center,
the program catalogs all building system components, identifies
systems that have reached the end of their useful life, and plans
for funding and implementation of system upgrade projects.
Emergency
Response
To ensure an organized and thorough response to emergency situations,
we have developed and maintain a coordinated plan to assist in the
survival and recovery from significant building system failures.
