Special Projects

In 2006, the position of Director for Professional Development and Equity was established within the Office for Faculty Affairs, and Linda Bockenstedt, M.D., Professor of Medicine, was named as Director.

The Director, in collaboration with the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs Carolyn M. Mazure, Ph.D., and other members of the Dean’s Office, is responsible for creating programs to support the academic development of all faculty members and to encourage the growth of a diverse faculty body at the school. A special focus is on the needs of women and underrepresented minorities. The Director works with Associate Dean Merle Waxman, Director of the Office for Women in Medicine, Dr. Forrester Lee, Assistant Dean for Multicultural Affairs, and the Committee on the Status of Women in Medicine (SWIM).
