Social Media and Public Health
Yale CPHP, in collaboration with the CT Partnership for Public Health Workforce Development is pleased to offer training on social media and public health. This workshop will provide an overview of the tools of social media (Facebook, Twitter, blogs, Youtube, etc.) and how they can be used in health communication. It will also feature practical lesson learned by a panel of speakers from public health agencies in NYC, Boston, and New Haven who are using social media in their communication strategy.
Learning Objectives
This workshop will enable participants to:
- Identify the tools of social media and the audiences they reach
- Describe how to incorporate social media into a health communication strategy
- Identify the benefits and challenges of using social media

Containing Education Credit
International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be offered. Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) CEUs will also be offered. Registrants must attend the full workshop to receive continuing education credit.
